With the end of the school year in sight, seniors are trying to finish the checklist of their high school careers. Different students will have varying goals to complete, but the milestones of prom, class trip, and graduation are staples on the high school bucket list. Fortunately, seniors don’t have to cross these items off on their own. The Senior Class Executive Council is tasked with the duty of making the last few months of the year memorable, which includes include organizing prom, planning a class trip, and raising the overall enthusiasm of the graduating class. Prom will be the first event crossed out on the list. With the theme of A Night Under the Sea, the Executive Council was able to have a relatively inexpensive dance where tickets were only $40. But, they did not cut any corners on the venue and decorations. This year’s prom will be held at the elegant Country Club of York. |
By writing about prom and events for seniors, I covered a hot topic for the year. This is news because it is very timely and has relevance and proximity. The article come out before the class trip and graduation so that the students could be more aware of what was coming up. I also created the timeline graphic, which shows my Photoshop and design abilities.
